Supplemental Audition Information for Prospective Freshman and Transfer Applicants
Students with an exceptional talent in dance who might like to continue dance studies at Stanford may submit a resume of previous dance training and performance as a DVD of choreography or performance. The recordings are reviewed by the Dance Division faculty, and a recommendation is sent to the admissions committee to be considered with the regular application.
- Group performances will not be evaluated unless the student is clearly identifiable.
- Recordings should not exceed seven minutes in length.
- All styles of dance are of interest to the Dance Division, including modern, all Indian Classical dance forms, ballet, jazz, hip hop, ballroom, and world dance forms.
Dance is offered as a minor through the Drama Department. The Dance Division does not offer live auditions. Please do not send audition materials to the Dance Division: all submissions must be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admission and meet all submission deadlines and requirements. Students interested in applying for undergraduate admission should visit the Undergraduate Admissions webpage at admission.stanford.edu for more information. In order to have your Arts Supplement considered in the review of your application, you must submit the Common Application, the Stanford Supplement to the Common Application, the Common Application Arts Supplement and all supplementary arts materials (Instructor Letter of Recommendation, Arts Resume, and the DVD) by the Arts Supplement deadline below, which is EARLIER than the application for admission deadline. Unfortunately, late submissions cannot be reviewed. Please review detailed instructions and deadlines for the Arts Supplement at http://www.stanford.edu/dept/ uga/applying/forms/ Arts Supplement Submission Deadlines*
Restrictive Early Action:
October 15, 2008
Regular Decision:
December 1, 2008
Transfer:
March 15, 2009
*postmark deadline
Please Note: An Arts Submission is only a supplement to the application process. Its submission neither guarantees nor commits a student to participation in the arts at Stanford if admitted, nor does non-submission preclude such participation.
